LEARNING AT HOME

Homework and supporting learning at home

* Part of your child’s homework is to read at home. Ideally, children in years 3 and 4 should read at least 3 times a week but preferably daily and reading should be recorded in your child’s reading record books. Here you can make notes of any observations you have. Even if your child is a fluent reader, it is important that they still practise reading aloud using expression and intonation and can talk to you in detail about their books.

* Spellings are given on Mondays to be practised at home.

* Mental maths to be practised given out half-termly.

* Three week rota of Topic/English/Maths homework given out on a Thursday, due back on Tuesday.
