Enrichment Activities
As a school, we continually endeavour to enrich our curriculum, providing inspiration, real-life experiences. These contribute to boosting confidence and self-esteem. This is done through various enrichment activities as well as developing cultural capital, ensuring our learners are prepared for their futures and are setting high aspirations for themselves.
To do this, we ensure that all children at Springfield:
- Take part in topic-focused weeks where, as a school, we focus on a specific area of the curriculum. We invite specialists in to talk to the children, deliver practical workshops and share vaulable expretise with our children. Our visitors are often from various backgrounds, allowing links with many aspects of the wider community. Some of our recent visitors to school include author and illustrator MP Robertson, The School of Kindness, the NSPCC and an engineering workshop.
- Take part in a school production every year, where children are given the opportunity to act, sing, dance and assist with music or lighting
- Take part in various off-site educational visits or experiences.
- Take part in weekly assemblies, where we promote British values and develop our growth mindset
- Learn to play different musical instruments
- Compete in sporting activites, both at school and off site
- Learn to swim
We also offer various other enrichment opportunites such as:
- School Council
- Reading Buddies
- Lunchtime clubs
- After school activities, which have recently included Choir, Running Club and Art Club
