Our School Day
Times of the School Day
Our school day starts at 8.40am and ends at 3.15pm for children in EYFS 2, Key Stage 1 and 2.
Nursery children (Owlets) should enter by their classroom door (close to main reception), where they are met by out Nursery staff.
Children who stay all day in nursery (those eligible for the 30 hour provision) need to bring a pack lunch which is eaten in the nursery classroom.
Session times for our part time children in nursery are:
8.40 – 11.45 am or 12.15 – 3.15pm. Children attending for the morning session should be collected by parents from the nursery classroom door.
In Early Years (Snowy and Tawny) the children enter through their classroom door at 8.40am, where they are met by our Reception staff.
Lunch time: 12.00 - 1.15pm
At lunch time, children in Early Years having a school dinner or packed lunch eat in the hall.
At the end of the day - 3.15 pm children in EYFS are released by a member of staff from the doors that access directly into the foundation garden. Children are only released when staff have seen the familiar adult. Any changes to the pickup should be notified to the child's class teacher. A password system ensures that children are picked up by authorised adults only.
In Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2) the classroom doors are open from 8.40am.
Break time: 10.40am - 11.00am
Lunch time: 12.00pm - 1.15pm. Children are bought back into class at 1pm by lunchtime staff and a story is read. Teaching starts at 1.15pm.
At lunch time children having a school dinner eat in the hall, packed lunches eat in the classroom.
At the end of the day the children are released by their teacher from the Key Stage 1 playground to a familiar adult.
In Key Stage 2 (Years 3 to 6) the classroom doors are open from 8.40am.
Break time:
Years 3 and 4 - 10:40 - 10:55
Years 5 and 6 - 11:00 - 11:15
Lunch time - 12.15 -1.10. Children come in from the playground when the bell rings at 1.10 ready to start their lessons at 1.15pm.
At lunch time, children having cooked school lunches eat in the hall. Children who are eating a packed lunch eat in their classrooms. In good weather, children eating packed lunches may eat at the picnic tables outside.
The school day ends at 3:15 in Key Stage 2 when the children are released by their teacher from their classrooms to meet parents. Parents who allow their children to walk home from school should inform the class teacher or the office.
