Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to our school website. We hope that you will find it both informative and useful.

I am very proud to be the Headteacher of Springfield Primary School.

At Springfield, my staff and I believe that everyone who is part of our school community is special. We provide a caring and stimulating learning environment that lays the foundations of learning for all children so that they are able to take an active part in adult life. We promote postive learning attitudes alongside those of mutual respect and responsibility.

We want all of our children to receive an education of the highest quality, so that they develop their full potential not only intellectually, but also creatively, spiritually, socially and morally. Springfield is an inclusive school. Staff are dedicated and determined to raise standards of achievement for all children. We pride ourselves on knowing our children and families well. We are proud to be seen as a community school with a 'family feel'.

As a school we aim to encourage curiosity, interest and enquiry, encouraging a lifelong love of learning. The school motto is 'Born Curious, Stay Curious'. Our pupils are enthusiastic, attentive and fun to be with. They are hardworking and keen to learn. Children at Springfield care about each other and are happy to be in school.

We have staff that are dedicated and hardworking, governors who are active in school life and parents who are supportive of their children’s education.

Together we ensure that all children succeed both academically, as well as in the many extra–curricular learning experiences we provide. We offer a range of extra-curricular clubs, trips, residential adventures and wrap around care for those that need it.

The school has large, bright classrooms and extensive school grounds, including a wooded environmental area, a ‘fairy den’, a pond, a running track, a large field, play equipment and the Forest School copse. This area includes a fire pit which is used regularly for cooking and a range of wooden play equipment for imaginative play and the development of gross motor skills. We incorporate forest school principals into our teaching and learning for all year groups.

Our Year 6 pupils are well prepared for the next stage of their education at Key Stage 3 moving on to local secondary schools such as Little Heath, Denefield and Theale Green.

If you would like to join our school community, please contact the school office to make an appointment to look around the school, to meet the staff and to discuss your child’s needs.

If you would like any information on the website provided in paper format, please contact the office and it will be provided free of charge.
