Autumn Term in EYFS

  • We began the term reading the story ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar.’ It is 50 years since the book was first published and 50 years since the school first opened! We enjoyed participating in a variety of artwork based on the story and exploring the life cycle of a butterfly with our very own caterpillars! We followed this with a topic entitled ‘Back in Time.’ We looked at non-fiction books and learnt lots of facts about dinosaurs. After half-term we will be reading and learning to retell a traditional story. As well as this, we hope to incorporate as many of the children’s interests into future learning.

Other Information

We will be sending library books home each week on a Tuesday for you to share, enjoy and discuss together at home.

Reading books for Tawny and Snowy Owls will be changed when they have been read and the home-link book signed.. They are sent home on Wednesdays.

Sometimes we’ll ask the children to research a topic at home and share what they have found out with their peers in school.

If you have any questions or concerns please do speak to a member of the Foundation team and we’ll do our best to help.

We look forward to a busy and fun-filled term.
